• User Preferences: Extension settings (note position, auto-show, todo mode)

Where Data is Stored:

• Local Storage: All notes are stored locally using Chrome's storage API
• Sync Storage: Only user preferences sync across your Chrome browsers when signed in
• No External Servers: No data is transmitted to external servers or third parties

Data Access and Permissions

Storage Permission:

• Used exclusively to save and retrieve your notes and preferences
• Data remains within Chrome's secure storage system

Active Tab Permission:

• Only accesses the current tab when you interact with the extension
• Used to display notes and retrieve page URLs for note association

Host Permissions:

• Content scripts run on all websites to enable note functionality
• No data is extracted from websites or transmitted elsewhere

Data Security

• All data remains on your device
• Notes are tied to specific URLs and stored locally
• No analytics, tracking, or data collection mechanisms
• No network requests or external communications

Data Retention and Deletion

• Notes persist until you manually delete them or uninstall the extension
• Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data
• No data recovery possible after uninstallation

Third-Party Services

WebStickies does not integrate with or share data with any third-party services.

Changes to Privacy Policy

Updates will be posted with the extension and on distribution platforms.
